Weight Ratio Calculations
Ratio of 1.300 (lighter wood)
1,000 kg = 1.3 m3
Ratio of 1.200 (heavier wood)
1,000 kg = 1.2 m3

Get Volume from Weight
(load weight) X (ratio) = volume
40,000 kg x 1.25 = 50 m3*

Finding Ratio
(load volume) / (weight) = ratio
50 m3 / 40,000 kg = 1.25* m3/tonne

*Divide or multiple answers by 1000 or
use tonne in calculations
(40,000 kg is 40. tonne)

Density Calculations
Kg / m3 = density
1,000 kg / 1.3 m3 = 769 "lighter wood"
1,000 kg / 1.1 m3 = 909 "heavier wood"
1,000 kg / 1.0 m3 = 1000 "fresh water density"
1,000 kg / .98 m3 = 1020 "salt water density"
1,000 kg / .97 m3 = 1030 "sinking wood"
